Playacar is a gated community just south of the main urban area of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. There is beach front property and beaches that looks toward the island of Cozumel, Mexico. Playacar is composed of 2 sections: the first one, Playacar Phase 1 offers nice by-the-sea secluded beaches and very exclusive villas, very close to downtown Playa del Carmen. The second, Playacar Phase II, was built around a golf course designed by Robert von Hagge, with all inclusive resorts and private villas all around.
Playacar is home to many locals and expats. It is also home to several All Inclusive resorts that dominate the beach areas south of Playa del Carmen. There is a public beach in Playacar Fase I. Your housing choice are many in Playacar with popular condos and townhomes as well as single family homes and villas.
Playacar is considered an upscale area to live and also a more secure area to live although there are diverse opinions about the security advantages.
